The company includes The New York Times, NYTimes.com and related properties. It is known globally for excellence in its journalism, and innovation in its print and digital storytelling and its business model.
“The New York Times is the ultimate example of traditional media, yet ‘the gray lady’ has expanded, innovated and remained relevant through continuous forays into non-traditional territory—web and mobile, video, virtual reality—all while maintaining the strict standards of high-quality journalism,” says Newhouse Dean Lorraine Branham. “The New York Times recognizes, evaluates and embraces the digital transformation of journalism to remain relevant in a constantly evolving landscape.”
At the ceremony, the Newhouse School will also honor legendary journalist Tom Brokaw with the Fred Dressler Leadership Award, and present juried journalism awards in four categories.
